This Just In: Latest OSX Can Be Installed On ANY x86 Hardware?!
If this is true, I'm driving down to the Apple store RIGHT...FRICKIN...NOW. ZDNet UK seems to have gotten the latest OSX to work on non-Apple x86 hardware . They're getting hammered now, since I borrowed this from Slashdot, but a non-suck OS on the PC platform is incredibly exciting news.

Study: AMD chips edge past Intel in retail PC sales

(AMD) edged past Intel Corp. last month in supplying processors for the U.S. retail PC market, according to a study by research firm Current Analysis Inc. Positivo expects US$167mn in PC sales this year - Brazil

Valve hardware survey summary
In August this year, Valve started a massive hardware survey of the users of its Steam online game distribution system. The survey which was last updated in September, features over 800,000 different hardware configurations obtained from participants of the online survey. Acers 3Q core business performance up, but gross margins drop below 10%
Acer enjoyed an on-year profit jump of 146.8% in its branded core business (chiefly PC hardware sales) in the third quarter of 2005, when its operating profits climbed to NT$1.78 billion (US$52.9 million), according to the company.

e-Auction for IT saves 4.5 million pounds for NHS Trust
A group of NHS trusts have achieved potential savings of nearly 30 per cent on this year's bill for IT Hardware via an on-line auction. Projected savings worth nearly 30 per cent, over £4.5m, should reduce the bill for PC equipment from £16m to £11.5m.
