Acers 3Q core business performance up, but gross margins drop below 10%

Acer enjoyed an on-year profit jump of 146.8% in its branded core business (chiefly PC hardware sales) in the third quarter of 2005, when its operating profits climbed to NT$1.78 billion (US$52.9 million), according to the company.
