(PHP 3, PHP 4, PHP 5)

unlink -- Deletes a file

Description

bool unlink ( string filename [, resource context] )

Deletes filename. Similar to the Unix C unlink() function.

Parameters

filename

Path to the file.

context

Note: Context support was added with PHP 5.0.0. For a description of contexts, refer to Reference CLX, Stream Functions.

Return Values

Returns TRUE on success or FALSE on failure.

5.0.0 As of PHP 5.0.0 unlink() can also be used with some URL wrappers. Refer to Appendix O for a listing of which wrappers support unlink().
