Hi DaniaB,
There are numerous resources online nowadays that will easily provide you with your IP address. One of these is as close as the site you asked the question on.
In their tools section located at: http://www.developertutorials.com/tools/ Developer Tutorials has an IP Location Tool that not only provides you with your IP address as soon as you visit the page but also gives you the option of searching for the location of an ip address with their tool.
You probably have more than one, so which do you need?
There are public and private IP addresses and these days, most people have both. If you have DSL/Cable/Fiber internet service, chances are, so do you.
To find your private IP in Windows, click start, then run, and enter "cmd" in the run dialog, then press ok. At the command prompt that appears, type "ipconfig" and press enter. You will be given your network card's IP addresses. Private addresses usually start with 192.168, but can also start with 172. and 10.
To find your public IP address, simply open your preferred browser and visit www.ipchicken.com.
