Hello there,

Every router provides password protection so in order to avoid free wifi. What you need to do is connect your router to your laptop using ethernet cable and assign your ethernet card address of family 192.168.1.5 and then go to your web browser and enter this http://192.168.1.1/

You will see a browser interface for your router, if asked for username/pass enter admin/12345 or admin/admin depending upon what you've set previously.

Now on your left side you will see options, click the option which says wireless, now here you go to set pre-shared key and that is what your password will be. Once set reboot your router for changes to take effect.

Next time when you connect to your wifi you will be asked for password now you should enter the one you've set for it.

Now your router is secure and only users knowing the password will be able to access it.

Thanks!
