How to setup a dedicated mail server?

I have an website that needs to send about 10k emails per day in real-time. So far I have found that using my current server that the site resides on to act as my mail server isn't working out so great. Some mail doesn't get sent, delivery rates do not seem to be good and overall it doesn't seem to be performing well as a mail sending server.

To efficiently send mail in real-time to a fairly large volume of recipients what do you think would be the best Linux dedicated mail server setup just for that purpose.

Thanks.
