Heartbeat Server Monitor is Unix compatible. The Heartbeat script can be configured to automatically send periodic email messages to an address that you specify. This is useful for monitoring the status of your web site, for instance. It also has many other uses, such as sending periodic reminder messages to yourself, or to someone else. The script also can be invoked manually.
