Softbank virtualizes its storage environment to achieve low operating cost

On October 1, 2006, Japan Telecom Co., Ltd., changed its company name to Softbank Telecom Corp. (hereafter, Softbank Telecom) and embarked on a new start. As a service infrastructure-building department involved primarily in the telephone business for corporate customers, the Corporate Systems Infrastructure Department of the company's Information System Division works to realize IT strategies of lower cost, more flexibility, more speed and higher quality, while also being involved in business management infrastructure development. In addition, the department is extending its reach into other business areas, including the Internet, data communications, digital office solutions, disaster recovery and more.
